COMEDIAN MARC HOWARD
Marc Howard is a classic stand-up comedian. His peers refer to him as “a comic’s comic.” That’s high praise coming from members of the highly competitive world of stand-up comedy. Marc doesn’t use any gimmicks, props or attempts at shock value to get laughs. Nor is he one for on-stage extreme sports or painful body contortions to make his point to his audience. Marc is a modern-day comic from the ‘old school’. He relies solely on his keen wit; his polished comedic timing and his unique look at pop culture and the oddities of life that we all come across everyday. And just when you think he’s completely won you over, he’ll seduce you with his patented boyish smile.
Standing a strong 6’2” with a shiny, shaved head, Marc act has nothing at all to do with his stature or his athleticism. Simply put, Marc is flat-out funny. His observations are pointed-sometimes edgy. His insights into the goings-on of show business icons are as on-target, as they are hilarious. But his true on-stage brilliance can be found in his up-beat personae, the fun he has performing on stage and the good time he has living life off stage.
A former military man, Marc started his career 16 years ago in his native Washington, D.C. He moved to Los Angeles in 1994, following the westward trail blazed by such D.C. alumni as Dave Chapelle, Martin Lawrence and Tommy Davison. Since his move out west, March has worked comedy clubs and theatres all over the country and all over the world. He’s made numerous television and film appearances along the way, including BET’s Comic View, The Don D.C. Curry Nervous Breakdown Special and the UPN’s Bay Area Black Comedy Competition Special. He also appears in Marc’s manager/filmmaker Tony Spires’ upcoming ode to the Black standup comedian, the feature film Tears Of A Clown, starring Don “D.C.” Curry and William L. Johnson.
Keeping his comedy chops razor-sharp, both on the road and in town; Marc frequently tours clubs across the U.S. and exotic locations around the globe. Marc’s shtick has taken him to stages in Korea, Japan, Guam and Germany. He recently concluded two tours for the U. S. and U.N. troops in Bosnia, Kosovo and war-torn Afghanistan. While in L.A. he graces the stages of all of the Los Angeles hotspots including: The Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Comedy Store, Mixed Nuts and The Comedy Union.
