Present the First Annual
FULL VISION SPOKEN WORD & VOCALS COMPETITION
For the first time, Full Circle Entertainment, the producers of the internationally recognized Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival and Oakland youth-based performing arts/arts education organization, Full Vision Arts Foundation, are presenting an interdisciplinary performing arts showcase and contest, the first annual “Full Vision Spoken Word & Vocals Competition." Produced in conjunction with The Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival and actually presented during the BABCCF shows, the goal of the Full Vision Competition is to showcase and celebrate talented and undiscovered Bay Area poets and singers who professionally represent those two important performing art forms.
We’re looking for Bay Area young people to participate. We’re also reaching out to arts organizations that may be interested in referring very talented, highly motivated and professional-minded young people who would be interested in competing. There will be a winner in both the Spoken Word and the Vocals Categories. The winners will appear at the Finals at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, February 16th, 2008.
We’re looking for a minimum of 20 candidates in both categories (40) who have their best performances on DVD or online (5 minutes only). With professional and community recommendations, the Full Vision Arts selection committee will select 4 top singers and 4 top poets. Those 8 artists will perform at the Competition's Opening Rounds at Geoffrey's Inner Circle February 13th & 14th. The final two singers and poets will compete head-to-head on Friday, February 15th. The winners will be honored and will perform at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, February 16th at the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival’s 2008 Finals.
Unsigned, computer-literate, solo artists with original, cleared material only-18 and over only please. Contestants must have a functioning email account.

ABOUT FULL VISION ARTS FOUNDATION
Full Vision Arts Foundation (FVAF) is an Oakland/East Bay based non-profit organization committed to helping at-risk youth reach their full potential via the creation, production and promotion of artistic endeavors and by developing artists that reflect the many faces of the African American experience and the cultural diversity of our community. FVAF endeavors to expose inner city youth to career options in the arts by involving them first-hand in real-life arts and entertainment productions. Through our work, we aim to cultivate understanding between and respect for the wide spectrum of peoples inhabiting our society.
